Latasha James Social Media Management Toolbox review: what you get for $55

An honest breakdown of what’s inside, who it’s great for, what it leaves out, and when a different tool fits better.

Updated By SMM Playbook7 min read
The short answer

The Social Media Management Toolbox by Latasha James is a $55 template pack: about 17 editable templates with short videos (Google Docs, Sheets, Canva or Office) covering selling, client communication, strategy and implementation, plus 4 bonus lessons. It’s strong for organizing and running client work. It doesn’t give you a daily system or scripts for finding your first clients, and purchases are non-refundable.

How we reviewed it

Disclosure

We sell a competing product, the 30-Day Client Getting System. This review is based on the public Toolbox course page as of October 2026 (curriculum, price and policies). We haven’t bought the Toolbox, so we don’t judge the quality of individual templates. Check the course page for the latest details.

What’s inside the Social Media Management Toolbox

The course page lists these sections and lessons:

SectionWhat’s listed
Selling Your ServicesProspecting worksheet, case study template, portfolio template, proposal template
Client CommunicationDiscovery call checklist, client intake questionnaire, client welcome kit
Social Media StrategyAudit template, competitor analysis, strategy template, buyer persona, hashtag library
ImplementationSocial media plan, stories planner, customer service responses, Facebook ad budget calculator, report template
BonusesContent calendar in Asana, how to send an invoice, what to include in contracts, discovery call process

Templates are editable in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Canva or Microsoft Office. There’s also a separate bundle with her Freelance Social Media Management Roadmap course for $111. Comparing her other courses? See our Latasha James course review.

What it does well

  • Wide coverage of client work. From discovery calls to welcome kits to reports, it covers most of the documents a working social media manager needs.
  • Strategy depth. Audit, competitor analysis, persona and strategy templates are useful once you have clients.
  • Flexible formats. Google, Canva and Office options mean you can use the tools you already have.
  • Well reviewed. The course page shows a high average rating from a large number of student reviews.

What it doesn’t cover

Going by the curriculum, the Toolbox is mostly about organizing and delivering the work. If you have zero clients, these gaps matter:

  • No daily outreach system. There’s a prospecting worksheet, but no listed day-by-day plan for how many businesses to contact and when to follow up.
  • No outreach scripts listed. No DM, cold email, walk-in or follow-up scripts appear in the curriculum.
  • Contract is a lesson, not a template. The bonus explains what goes in a contract rather than giving you an editable one.
  • No pricing calculator listed for working out your monthly packages.
  • No AI workflow. Nothing in the curriculum covers using Claude or other AI to find leads or draft work.
  • No refunds once purchased.

Who it’s for (and who it isn’t)

Good fit if you…
  • Already have 1+ clients
  • Want professional docs for onboarding, strategy and reports
  • Like Canva or Google templates
Less of a fit if you…
  • Have no clients yet and need to find them
  • Want exact messages to send each day
  • Want an editable contract and pricing math included
